Attorney Profile

Kevin Allen

Senior Counsel · Los Angeles

Kevin has spent more than twenty years litigating wage-and-hour and employment class actions, most of it on the employee’s side. He handles complex litigation in state and federal court, with a focus on wage-and-hour class actions, PAGA representative actions, and executive employment disputes.

He has worked these cases from every seat. After training at class action and civil rights firms, he ran his own plaintiff-side employment firm for nearly a decade, served as outside general counsel to small and mid-sized companies, and spent time defending employers at a national defense firm.

That range shapes how he values a case. He has drafted the pleadings, argued the certification motions, and negotiated the settlements from both sides of the table, and he knows when a matter should be tried and when it should settle, and on what terms.

Kevin is a trained mediator. He completed the Mediating Disputes program at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation and conducts both joint-session and caucus-style mediations.

The work

Kevin’s practice covers wage-and-hour class actions, PAGA representative actions, and individual employment disputes, including the Labor Code and statutory claims that arise alongside executive separations.

Kevin has spent his career on both sides of the wage-and-hour docket, and it shows in how he builds a case. He decides early which claims to plead and which to leave out, and he plans for what the time records and pay data will have to prove at certification. When a matter settles, he’s the one at the table. When it doesn’t, he’s the one trying it.
